The 95% you don’t see is quietly running your life

Let me tell you something I see over and over again.

People come to me and say:

“Alex, I want to grow my business.” “I want more money.” “I want better relationships.” “I want more energy.”

And when we start talking, they focus on the visible stuff.

The numbers. The strategy. The calendar. The plan.

That’s the 5%.

But the real driver? The invisible 95%.

The Iceberg Nobody Talks About

Think about an iceberg.

You see the tip above the water. That’s your goals, your conscious thoughts, your plans. The “this year will be different” conversations.

But under the water? Massive structure.

That’s your subconscious.

Your habits. Your emotional reactions. Your identity stories. The patterns you repeat without even noticing.

And neuroscience supports this — most of our decisions and behaviors are automatic. The brain loves efficiency. It builds loops. Once something is repeated enough, it becomes default.

So you’re not “choosing” as much as you think you are.

You’re running programs.

A Story About Money (Because It’s Always Honest)

I had a client once — very smart, very capable, already successful.

But his bank account never moved beyond a certain level.

Every time he hit a financial milestone, something happened. Unexpected expense. Bad investment. Undercharging. Delaying a decision.

From the outside it looked like “bad luck.”

But I asked him one question:

“What are you repeatedly doing before the money drops?”

We mapped it.

Whenever pressure increased, he avoided looking at numbers. When he felt overwhelmed, he spent to feel relief. When negotiating, he softened his position.

Behaviour.

Then we went deeper.

“What emotion drives this?”

Anxiety. Fear of responsibility. Fear of being judged.

Then deeper again.

“Who are you being in this story?”

His identity was: “I’m not really good with money.” “Money creates pressure.”

There it was.

The 95%.

And until that identity shifted, his bank account would keep reflecting it.

Your Results Are Not Random

Here’s the part most people don’t want to hear:

Your results are a mirror.

If your health isn’t where you want it to be… If your relationship feels distant… If your team isn’t performing… If your business is stuck…

It’s not about trying harder.

It’s about asking:

“What behaviours are producing this?”

Because behavior creates results.

And behaviour is driven by identity.

How to See Your 95%

You can’t “see” subconscious patterns directly.

But you can observe three things.

1. What You Do Under Stress

Stress is truth serum.

When pressure rises:

  • Do you overwork?
  • Shut down?
  • Control everything?
  • Avoid?
  • People-please?

That’s not personality.

That’s programming.

2. What You Do Repeatedly

Habits are subconscious in motion.

Not what you say you’ll do. What you actually do on a random Tuesday.

The small daily behaviours? They tell the truth.

3. The Results You Keep Recycling

This one is powerful.

Look at your:

  • Financial situation
  • Energy levels
  • Relationship patterns
  • Business growth

Now ask:

“If this is a direct reflection of my repeated behaviours… what am I repeating?”

No blame. Just observation.

Awareness without judgment is where power starts.

Try This Today

Pick one area that feels off.

Maybe money.

Write down:

  1. The exact result (be honest, be specific).
  2. The behaviours that contribute to it.
  3. The emotion behind those behaviors.
  4. The identity story underneath.

For example:

Result: Savings never grow. Behaviour: Avoid numbers, undercharge, delay decisions. Emotion: Anxiety. Identity: “I’m not financially strong.”

Now you’re not working on money anymore.

You’re working on identity.

And identity is where real change happens.

You Don’t Have a Motivation Problem

You don’t need to hustle harder. You don’t need another productivity hack.

You need to see your pattern.

Because once you see it, you’re no longer fully controlled by it.
